Biography
Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha, an epitome of beauty and hope, an Ode on a Grecian Urn, a rare breed, was born like every other child on earth but with special qualities. She has demonstrated that a woman can attain the pinnacle of success in any chosen career through hard work , determination and diligence. This woman of virtue has clinched higher positions in all spheres of human endeavors she ventured into due to her determination, intelligence, courage and absolute dedication to duty.

She hails from Isuochi in Umunneochi L.G.A of Abia State to the Family of Late Eze Bob Ogbonna. Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha had her early education in her home town of Isuochi, She attended Isuochi Central Primary School and had her secondary education at Isuochi secondary school and Ovim Girls School.
In her quest for more education, she gained admission into the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she obtained A Diploma in Social Work/Community Development with a credit pass in 1988.
In 1993, she obtained a Bachelors Degree BA (Hons) 2nd Class Upper Division from the same University of Nigeria, Nsukka .
She holds a Master Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Imo State University, Master Degree in Shipping from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (Transport Management [MTM]).
In her university days at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, she participated actively in Students’ Union and held various positions including Chairmanship of various committee of the students union.
Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha partook in the Compulsory National Youth Service 1993, as a Youth Corp Member, she distinguished herself and endeared herself to all in the Protocol Department of the Governor’s Office, Osun State where she did her primary assignment. The exciting and all enriching experience was a great motivation in her future political endeavors.

In 1995, she joined her husband’s company as a manager. The company dealt with importation of baby clothing, household items, and general goods. She joined to build the company to a very enviable height.

A true gem can never be hidden, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha now highly successful in business was invited in July, 2002 to bring her wealth of experience and success in the private sector to the service of the people of Abia state, she was appointed the commissioner for Resource Management and Manpower Development in Abia State. As a Commissioner, she worked tirelessly and relived, reactivate the skills Acquisition programme in Abia State. Her successes in the Ministry of Manpower Development are still a focal point of reference today.
In July 2003, she was appointed the Executive Transition Chairman, Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia state.
In 2007, she contested and won a seat in the Federal House of Representatives, in a male dominated parliament she excelled beyond words, she was the chairman of the Women in Parliament committee and member of various committees. She influenced several developmental projects for the good people of her constituency. Little wonder that in 2011, she was Re-Elected as the Honourable member representing Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency. As a member of the 7th Assembly, she was appointed the Chairman of the House committee on Aviation, a position she still holds. Her efforts in the transformation of the Aviation sector is legendary and had been lauded by many. She led the committee in the bid to sanitize the rot in the sector. She is the toast and darling of aviation stakeholders in Nigeria. In her current position as the Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, she has actively initiated and worked for greater, accountability and rapid development in the Aviation industry. This is due to her passion to help boost Nigeria’s economy in other to be amongst the world highest economy and realization of vision 2020.

Her qualities stems in diverse areas of human endeavour, socially, psychologically, economically and politically. In politics, she has distinguished herself among her equals, more so now that she deals with a different spectrum of work that includes being a positive role model, an Advocate for the people, a Humanitarian, a visionary, a Planner, an Insurer, a Law Maker, and an Overseer.

Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha is a two time member of House of Representatives representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency is currently, the Chairman House Committee on Aviation and member of many Committees in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha, a fulfilled lady, is happily married to High Chief (Sir) Kingsley Onyejeocha, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Conglomerate of Companies, and blessed with lovely children..
